The Early Years at River Valley
We believe the Early Childhood years are a distinct and unique time that is to be honored and respected. Whether you are looking for parent-child classes, a preschool program, or a blended class, we offer families a developmentally appropriate beginning for young children. Through our programs children are afforded a strong foundation for lifelong learning through nurturing their sense of wonder, imagination, and trust in the goodness of the world around them.
Garden Gate
0-3 years old, seasonal sessions, 1-2 mornings per week, 2 hour classes
Garden Gate is a parent-child program where families are offered a gentle introduction to Waldorf early childhood education. Children play and participate in class alongside their parent or caregiver while adults learn about child development and build community.
Rosebud
2 years, 7 months – 4 years old, year-long enrollment, 2 mornings per week, 3-4 hour classes
Rosebud begins as a parent-child program and gradually transitions into a drop-off preschool class. Rosebud gently supports young children and their families as they transition from home to school life within a nurturing and collaborative environment.
Early Childhood Classes
2 years, 7 months – 6 years old, year-long enrollment, 3 or 5 days per week, half or full days
A traditional drop-off program, Early Childhood classes nurture children and their sense of wonder through imaginative play, storytelling, song, and time in nature. Daily rhythms and practical work such as baking, painting, and seasonal crafts provide children a strong foundational beginning to learning.
